City Of Las Vegas Receives Awards For Innovation The City Will Be Awarded Three Recognitions From The Las Vegas Business Press
Las Vegas, NV – (LasVegasNevada.gov) The Las Vegas City Council will receive three awards for its innovative practices from the Las Vegas Business Press at the Wednesday, June 7, City Council meeting that will begin at 9 a.m. in council chambers, located at 495 S. Main St.
The Las Vegas Business Press recently presented the 2017 Innovation Awards. The city won two awards in the public sector category and a third award in the science and technology category. Business Press Publisher Debbie Donaldson will be at the meeting to present awards that highlight the work being done in the city’s Innovation District, with the advancement of the Alexa artificial intelligence tool that provides city information to users and the city’s commitment to building a sustainable future.
In addition, the City Council will recognize Mike Tomko as the June Citizen of the Month. He organizes the annual Las Vegas Firefighters September 11th Procession and Tribute in downtown Las Vegas, drawing firefighters and police officers from all over the west coast.
Also, the City Council will recognize the winning entries from the 2017 Helldorado Parade.
Councilman Ross will recognize the winners of the annual Nevada Child Seekers Poster Contest that brings awareness to the plight of missing children in our community.
Finally, the City Council is also scheduled to recognize the June Employee of the Month.
